Is there a way to simplify the referrals module?  (United States)
Modified By Jason Spencer on 3/17/2006 6:41:33 AM)
I'm testing the referrals module you developed and have two quick questions/requests.

1)  I would like to use it as a way for my members to send a preformatted HTML email to a recipient they specify, but on my site the option to change the "from" name and address are not visible.   The sent message always shows up as from the logged in dotnetuser, and we need it to be from a hard-coded editor@xyz.com account.

3)  We don't want them to change any of the subject or body.  I was able to specify this using the config files for the module, but the boxes still show up.  Is there any way to simplify it to only show the "friend name", "friend email address", and "submit" boxes?

I know you don't support it anymore, but was wondering if you don't want to make these changes if you could offer any other suggestions.

Re: Is there a way to simplify the referrals module?  (United Kingdom)
Hello Jay

1) This could be a module setting I guess - the ability to specify the from person.

3) You may be able to hack the .ascx file, but this is not the current version.

To be honest there is not much demand for this module - hence I'm afraid I don't think the features you need will be in it anytime soon! You would need to customize the code yourself (I'd be happy to give pointers) to achieve your requirements.

Thanks
Rodney

I have no problem doing it myself, I just didn't know if the download version was a PS or a source version.

Hi Jay,

Just a quick update on this  (I know it'sa bit late ;) - these things are now all possible in the latest version. It has a lot of settings to hide and show fields and templated emails.

Thanks
Rodney
