Funtions in 3.1.1?  (Spain)

Hi,

First, thanks for the free module.  I have installed it on a test site and it does seem to refresh (I can briefly see the hour glass) on queue, but the image doesn't change.  I am pointing to an image on another webpage that updates every minute.  When I hit the page refresh, the image does update.  Could this be a compatability problem with 3.1.1?

Thanks

Hello

Have you tried with different browsers? What browser are you using? To be honest I have not had a look at that module since the very initital 3.x version. Also - are you using caching at all?

Thanks
Rodney

Re: Funtions in 3.1.1?  (Spain)

Hi Rod,

My test were with IE6.0 - I've just given it a try with firefox V1 and it works fine!
I did have caching for the module at 0secs and moderate caching for the site.  I have tried setting caching on the module to 1 sec but it seems not to make a difference (in IE).

Hmm - actually thinking about it, caching shouldn't make much difference on this module as it is all client-side script anyway!

And you say it works in FF but not IE 6.0? Strange - I'll have to investigate and test this (no one else has reported this and you would think that they would have found this by now so maybe it is just an oddity in your IE6 browser version? Have you got the latest service pack for it?)

Thanks
Rodney

Re: Funtions in 3.1.1?  (Spain)

Hey Rod,

I am using the latest service pack - but I will run a test this morning on another of my machines.  I don't have any problem running client side scripts on my normal box though.  Any pointers would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Ok - I have now tested this on IE (6 sp 2) and FireFox (1.0.6) and they both work fine - I changed the webcam demo on Smart-Thinker to point at the world time site - what happens when you view this page with IE and FF? (too check if it is working, move the scroll bar down and it jumps to the top every 10 seconds on mine)

Re: Funtions in 3.1.1?  (Spain)

I've just checked in IE6 (sp2) and yes, if I move the scroll bar it does reset the window position every 10 secs, but the image does not change - i.e. the time stays the same, only when I refresh the page do the times get updated

Re: Funtions in 3.1.1?  (Spain)

Rod,

Apologies.  I've just tried it on the laptop, again with same version of IE (6 SP2) and that works fine!  Now I'm confused.  I'm going to check my settings, which in theory haven't changed in ages and re-install if nothing shows up.  I'll let you know if I find anything.

Thanks,

Simon

Ok - no problem - let me know what you find!

For the recrod, with the Webcam demo page on Smart-Thinker, the page refreshes and every minute the times are updating (without the need to refresh manualy).

Thanks
